Cayuga Street. This will be the first full show locally by the singer/songwriter, who was heard in a sneak preview on the Nov 22nd, 2008 broadcast of Crossing Borders. In a rare appearance, local songwriters Patti Witten and Rich DePaolo will perform a bonus guest set. (see below for more info) Tickets are $12.00 at the door, with discount of $10 for NY teachers presenting their Winter Recess pass. Advance tickets are $10 and available at Ithaca Guitar Works and Volume Records. Pop singer-songwriter Jann Klose, whose new album Reverie has been hailed as 'the best unsigned record in a long time' by Sirius Satellite Radio, is a creature of the world but has struck a chord in the American Indie pop scene. Born in Germany, raised in Nairobi, Kenya and Johannesburg, South Africa, Jann spent his teenage years in Hamburg, Germany before coming to Cleveland as an exchange student. He returned to Germany, to fulfill mandatory civil service, and then relocated to Northeast Ohio, where he studied voice with Emmy winner David Gooding, sang in the Cleveland Opera Chorus, and released two CDs on local label G21 Records (1997's ENOUGH SAID and 1999's THE STRANGEST THING). In 2000 Jann relocated to New York. He has since performed in Broadway touring companies of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and JEKYLL AND HYDE as well as a regional production of The Who¹s TOMMY. Songs from his 2003 EP BLACK BOX, produced by Grammy winner Marlon Graves, were licensed to the Warner Bros. DVD ³Dead Broke², featuring Paul Sorvino, car maker SAAB¹s 60th Anniversary CD in France and Prambors Hits in Indonesia. Based in the Bronx, NY, Jann tours extensively around the world and is currently relocating to Ithaca. The new Cd, Reverie, is fast becoming a critical favorite in regional America and is now being heard on over 90 FM stations worldwide, including Sirius XM Radio's "The Loft" in the U.S. Recently Jann performed with Renaissance's Annie Haslam and John Tout at the Sellersville Theater and with Rosanne Cash, Marty Stuart and Roger McGuinn at the Martin Guitar 175th anniversary concert. This Fall and Winter, Jann and his band have been supporting Elliott Murphy on a tour of the East and West Coast. Klose wins over the listener with his soaring voice, which may well be a staple of chamber pop for a long time to come. ...The Washington Post Reverie is a suitable name for the new full-length Jann Klose disc.
